Data Review

Hi families!  This blog is being written to explain that in the coming weeks our teams are going to be using the data gathered from the beginning of this month to make decisions regarding the current need/effectiveness of current interventions in math and reading.  We will also look at the need to start intervention if a student is not currently in one but is showing the need.  Letters/communication will be made to any families of students that will be seeing a change in their intervention in any way (more time, less time, change of the actual intervention being used, time of day, group/instructor, etc.)  We meet to discuss all students in the grade level early next week and then will discuss the need (if any) for changes to be made.  We do this of course with the best learning interests of the students in mind and to maximize progress.  Students' needs change quite often so even though this is our 2nd full data review of the school year, we do a "mini review"  again before the last full review of the year.  We do discuss student need as it arises as well in between these meetings and adjust if applicable.  Please know we are constantly evaluating and striving for the most effective learning situations possible for your students.  If you do not receive communication in the coming 2 weeks, that probably means that your student was evaluated and the current learning environments/interventions have been deemed to be the best for your student at this time.  If you have any questions - please let me know.
