Data Review Meeting

For our latest early dismissal we had school improvement meetings in the afternoon.  This particular meeting Prairieview focused on data review in a more formal sense.  We are always reviewing data informally of course and using data to make academic, behavioral, and instructional decisions - but this past week we worked more as a team.  We look at all different sets of data and discuss progress in the classrooms for reading and math.  We discuss every student in 3rd grade in both subjects and make decisions.  As a result of those discussions, we decide whether or not additional intervention, attention, or instruction is needed or no longer needed.  This will look different for every individual student.  Sometimes an intervention just needs to be changed, increased, or decreased.  Sometimes the environment needs to be adjusted - there are countless options.  Over the coming week letters will be sent home and calls home may be made to communicate any changes that may have been suggested for your student's success.  The math letters for 3rd grade went home today with changes beginning on Monday.  The reading changes will not begin until Wednesday at the earliest.  I just wanted you all to have a heads up on what is going on in the world of Prairieview academics!  Have a wonderful weekend and bundle up!!
