What's in the Forsman Future?

Spelling
We will be working with List # 8 next week.  A great way to help your student study their spelling list is by phonics categories.  Have your student write their words in groups that have similar rules.  This will help bring home the connection between the phonics rule and the words on the list.

Reading

The students have already begun to make great progress in reading and are feeling more confident.  As a whole, their hands are up more in class and their reading is becoming more fluent.  Each week, we progress monitor those students receiving RTI services and track their progress based on their individual goals.  I show the graphs to my students each week so that they can see how their reading is improving.  There is such pride in their faces!  It is easily one of the best parts of my week!  Continue to practice reading at home!

Math
We will continue working with Chapter 3 this week.  We have discussed rounding and will work more now with exact addition with up to 4 digit numbers and 3 digits to add.  We continue to ask that students practice their addition flash cards at home so that they are ready when we finally do start playing "Around the World" in class.
