What's in the Forsman Future?
Spelling
We are jumping ahead a bit to pretest List#21 on Monday. There will be a homework packet due Friday as always, and we will have our final test on Friday as well.

Reading
I am planning on having my reading students show off their speaking skills at our upcoming Open House. They each will read a poem at our "Poetry Cafe". This will be at 7:30pm. Please let me know if you are able to attend so I know how many students will be performing. You can just email me a "yes or no". THANKS! The poems should be either in the student's reading folder or homework folder to practice. This is not for a grade, just great practice!

We will also be continuing our study of poetry as well as all of our reading strategies as we apply it to various literary genres! We are going to discuss the Chicago Fire as well which is usually a high interest non-fiction topic! Our class continues to work on our phonics skills and generalize them to our spelling, writing, and of course - reading!

Math
We will continue to focus on fractions next week and expand our knowledge to include decimals. We also have a few fun projects planned to help our students' comprehension of these topics and also to show off for Open House on Thursday!

Writing

This week's prompt: If you could do anything you wanted today, how would you spend the day? Try to elaborate and add exciting details to your response. Make it into a paragraph and think of 6 sentences to support your topic sentence. You could even make this into a creative story!

Tune in next Friday for more Forsman Fun!
