Testing

Hi everyone!  This is yet another blog about testing - yay!  It is a positive one in that I am proud to announce that the students did an AMAZING job on their winter benchmarks and testing measures.  Almost everyone went up in their scores on every assessment.  I was beaming with pride as were the students.  It is so awesome to see their hard work pay off in this way where they themselves could see the fruits of their labor.  I am hoping that they will continue to make the connection between working hard in class/school and seeing their learning quantified with a number.  One word of warning for you all as parents.  Though we expect to see great gains (as we did) from fall to winter, we do not expect as much gain from winter to spring.  The nature of the test is that they should stay in the same bracket of scores if you will (not lose many points) but they may stay in the same area as far as scores for the spring.  There are a number of reasons for this that I will talk more about in the spring.  For now, let's celebrate our remarkable students and everyone's (parents included) hard work!

** In a future blog, I will discuss what we will do with these scores and when changes in programming (if any) will occur.
