What's in the Forsman Future?
Spelling
Next week is the last week that we are taking a break from regular spelling lists to continue working on phonics skills. The week after spring break we will start up again with List#18.

Reading
We will continue our novel study of the last Horrible Harry book we will read - Horrible Harry Takes the Cake. The students in the novel are doing an animal research project and so are we! We will practice our researching, fact/opinion, bibliography, writing, reflecting, and creativity skills during this time. The final product will be graded, but all of it is being done here in school. Please note that due to spring break... the March reading calendar as well as the genre book report will be due on April 2nd.

Math
We are starting our practice of division and will also work on fractions next week. Our class has really tried to study fact families as a way of understanding that division is related to multiplication. Hopefully this connection will help the students realize that they already know a lot of division facts! We had done mini lessons on fractions before so a lot of the basic fraction knowledge the students already have. We will now be able to expand on that a bit.

Writing
This week's prompt: List the pros and cons of entering a hot dog eating contest. Try to elaborate and add exciting details to your response. Make it into a paragraph and think of 6 sentences to support your topic sentence. You could even make this into a creative story!

Tune in next Friday for more Forsman Fun!
