This is just a little note regarding Math RTI at Prairieview. Some students have been identified and recommended for intervention and of course some have not, you would have received a letter home if this pertains to your student. Tier 2 intervention is 30 minutes a day in a small group working on the Number Worlds curriculum. Tier 3 students work on the same Number Worlds curriculum for 30 minutes of their day as well as 30 more minutes of intervention using IXL.com. IXL is a common core aligned web based curriculum with a game format. We just started math intervention on Monday the 23rd but have already started seeing the transfer of skills and knowledge to the classrooms - yay! We progress monitor our math intervention students similarly to how we do this for our reading intervention students. Tier 2 students will be given a Math Concepts and Applications probe from Aimsweb.com every other week. The Tier 3 students will be progress monitored weekly using the Math Concepts and Applications probe as well as the Math Computation Probe from Aimsweb.com. These are 8 minute tests and if a student has the accommodation of tests read in their IEP they do get these probes read to them in a small group setting.
