What's in the Forsman Future?

ISATS Part 2! There is another long weekend to rest up coming up... yay!

Here are my tips again: :)
1. Get lots of sleep!
2. Eat a healthy breakfast
3. Be ready with your supplies (calculator for the students taking the ISATS with me and at LEAST 2 sharpened #2 pencils).
4. Plan to bring a healthy snack to school each day.
5. Stay positive about this test!

It was so nice to get the chance to have conferences with many of you this past week. I cannot believe we are in trimester #3 already! Spring break is upon us as well... Whoo hoo!

(Reposted from last week's blog...)

Reading
Please continue to read daily with your child and encourage them to use high level vocabulary words in their every day speech. If you model this, it can be fun to do together. Any chance to respond to reading in writing is great practice as well.

Math
With regards to math, facts, facts, facts! We do a lot of mixed practice here in school of all types of math- but the facts are a part of that and repetition is the key! We are spending a lot more time now on higher level thinking types of math problems so we do not much chance to drill the facts anymore. Also real world math application is important- so please continue to give your student chances to use what they learn here like time, money, measurement, etc.

Writing
This week's prompt: Describe the perfect car. Try to elaborate and add exciting details to your response. Make it into a paragraph and think of 6 sentences to support your topic sentence. You could even make this into a creative story!

Tune in next Friday for more Forsman Fun!
